Information for prospective students

Are you interested in ecological synthesis and would like to join our lab? We have open positions for undergrads, grad students, and postdocs at the Graduate School in Ecology of USP, one of the top 3 in biodiversity in Brazil. Check out information about the selection process. USP has a wide system of graduate schools, with intensive interaction between disciplines.

Read our lab policies to find out more about our work philosophy. In addition, all lab members must conform with the ethics code of the University of São Paulo.

As an educator of young scientists, I believe in helping individuals of any age, gender, or nationality to make the most of themselves. At SintECO, people who work hard, stay focused, and respect their lab mates will get a chance to learn how to do science. Our research group is kept small, so each member can receive customized training.

I supervise only students and postdocs who make conscious career choices. Prospective lab members are expected to be curious, hard-working, and have a beginner’s mind. In addition, they should be able to read English. After you think it through, contact me.
